Higher Education aims to prepare students for social and professional responsibilities by imparting knowledge, inculcating skills and instilling values. It has to constantly evolve according to changing demands and cater to the social, psychological and employability needs of students. Leadership in higher education is therefore, a great responsibility. It is the weighty task of gauging needs and mobilizing resources for their fulfillment. Educational leaders must empower faculty, students and other stakeholders to overcome challenges and enhance the process of education. In this post-pandemic era, more than ever, the world is experiencing a heightened need for good educational leadership. Switching between offline and online modes of education, inaccessibility to learning resources and the lack of social interaction have badly affected student communities. Faculty members are forced to experiment with novel techniques to ensure learning.

In this context of hurdles and new opportunities, Sanatana Dharma College has geared up to lead the way, through the inception of the Sanatanam Teaching Learning Centre (headed by the College IQAC). We aim to provide quality inputs to faculty and students in higher education, in the form of Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), Student Development Programmes (SDPs), seminars, symposia and other academic activities. Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) under the TLC will focus on blended teaching-learning practices, curriculum designing, innovative classroom techniques, research methodology and the use of ICT in academics and research. The Student Development Programmes (SDPs) will focus on optimal use of e-resources, study skill development, use of ICT in higher education, employability skills and English for Academic Purposes. The Teaching Learning Centre also seeks to organize seminars, symposia, workshops and other activities that will ensure exchange of knowledge and research insights.

True learning emanates from constructive student-teacher interactions, observation, experimentation, dialogues, debates, hands-on experience and the optimal use of resources. We seek to empower the academic community so that teaching-learning, in all its variant forms, is actualized in our higher education institutions.

  • By offering hands-on training in the use of technology for classroom teaching.

  • By training faculty members in the development of e-content for UG and PG level teaching.

  • By offering training sessions to faculty on methods of student assessment.

  • By empowering students to overcome the obstacles of online/blended learning.

  • By inculcating effective study skills among students.

  • By training students in the optimal use of e-resources.

  • By offering value added talks, workshops and skill enhancement sessions to students.

  1. To enable the creation and dissemination of new knowledge/expertise:

  • By promoting interdisciplinary research projects.

  • By encouraging inter-departmental collaboration within the institution.

  • By facilitating collaboration with other HEIs, Universities, Governmental and Non-Governmental research institutions for training and research.

  • By acting as a forum for research based discussions and publication.

  • By designing FDPs and SDPs in research methodology, statistical analyses and other research related topics.

  • By offering hard skill training programmes to students.

  • By offering training sessions in spoken English and soft skills.

  • Through career guidance sessions and placement training programmes.

  • By facilitating collaborations with the industry for purposes of student training, internship and placement.

  • By creating a conducive ecosystem for student startups.
