Vision:
The vision of the institution is to lead young minds from the darkness of ignorance to the path of truth, wisdom and positive action, through quality education that combines knowledge, skills and human values. The ideals of truth, godliness and beauty, enshrined in the motto of the institution, “Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram”, are inculcated in a holistic educational vision and practice leading to the realisation of a fuller human life and to nation building.
Mission:
To inculcate nationalistic, secular, inclusive and humanitarian values in students by imparting intellectually challenging and value-added education.
To provide students with quality education through the latest and best teaching –learning-evaluative methodologies in the disciplines of science, technology, arts, languages, commerce and culture.
To equip students with the skills needed for success in a highly competitive globalized world.
To develop social commitment, personal ethics and discipline, good citizenship and proactive leadership among students through co-curricular and extension activities.
To encourage the spirit of enquiry, creativity, intellectual scholarship and research, which will lead to the positive development of society on the regional, national and global levels.
The college, which has been in existence for seventy five years, has been fulfilling this mission in keeping with the values of justice, tolerance and secularism enshrined in the Constitution of India, and the vision of its founding fathers. Since majority of the students come from economically and socially weaker sections of the area, the institution has been serving to uplift society by providing quality education at affordable cost. The college ensures transparency, democracy, participation, sound organisational set up and accountability in its functions while maintaining quality in its academic and administrative units. We continue this noble mission through committed and sustained teamwork in the planning and implementation of all activities.
