Sree Chithira Thirunal Library
The General Library of SD College is situated in the central area of the campus for easy access. The library is having spacious stack rooms and reading area. The library is holding more than fifty thousand books including rare books and popular periodicals.
The library is having an IT Room for accessing Internet and Online Resources. It is a member of UGC’s NLIST database for e-journals and e-books. It is also an institutional member of American Library Chennai. The library is fully automated using open source software, Koha.
All users are requested to fill in the membership form available in the library for getting the bar-coded ID Cards. Books are issued between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on all working days.
Drillbit
The Library Advisory Committee has been set up in accordance with the norms laid down by the expert committee on College Libraries appointed by the Govt. of Kerala. It consists of the Pricipal, Five Heads of Departments (In rotation for one year), Librarian (UGC) and a student representative.
