“Communication Beyond Words”
Young communicators club (YCC) is the students’ wing of Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), founded in 2013. It aims to enhance the Communication Skills in younger generation by bridging the gap between academic and professional world. It’s a pan Indian Organization that brings together academicians, professionals and veterans from the arena of communication and media. Joining hands with the PG Department of English, a chapter of YCC was initiated at SD College on 27th of July 2021 in the presence of eminent personalities from the College administration, PRCI and students.
The Young Communicators Club (YCC) hosted its second programme of 2023-24 with great enthusiasm and zeal to compliment Ms Aditi Krishnadas, a national award-winning director and animator, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. Her remarkable achievements include winning the national award for Best Animated Film, “Kandittund”. Her impressive profile captivated the audience’s attention and heightened anticipation for her keynote address.
Following the introductory remarks, Ms Atheena Jailal recited the prayer, setting a reflective tone for this event. Ms Fahma Fathima, the Joint Secretary of YCC Sanatana Dharma Chapter, delivered a welcome address, emphasizing the importance of communication in personal and professional growth. Dr Bindu Nair, the HOD of the English Department and Vice Principal, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the significance of initiatives like the young communicators club in fostering communication skills among the students.
Ms. Aditi Krishnadas took the stage to deliver the keynote address. Sharing insights from her illustrious career in animation and directing, her words of wisdom and encouragement inspired the young communicators to pursue their passion with dedication and perseverance. Two of her seminal works, “Kandittund” and “Aranapuranam” were screened on the occasion. The making of “Kandittund” including the preparation of the story board, drawing of rough sketches, designing of characters, recording of sounds and dialogues and sound mixing were explained by Ms. Adithi Krishnadas.
Mrs. Saritha M the faculty coordinator of YCC expressed gratitude to all participants, guests and organizers for their contributions to the success of the event. Her vote of thanks acknowledged the collaborative effort that made the programme possible.
The event concluded on a high note, leaving the audience inspired and motivated to hone their communication skills further. Overall, the second programme of 2024 organized by the young communicators club was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of all involved.
