Career Guidance and Placement Cell
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College is a dynamic body functioning to provide career awareness, training and placement drives to the students. The cell works under the guidance of a faculty coordinator who is supported by student placement secretary and representatives. Mr. Damu Chandran, Assistant Professor in Commerce, is the coordinator of the Career Guidance and Placement Cell at present. The cell provides comprehensive training programmes and sufficient information through the resources of the General Library. Newspapers and e-resources are made available to students to provide information on career opportunities and job openings. Resource sharing is also done through WhatsApp groups and other digital platforms.
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell does not limit its goal to just finding jobs for students. It aims to help students to make informed choices regarding careers by organizing career guidance and training sessions and seminars with expert resource persons from industry and the government sector. It serves as a liaison between students and potential employers and organizes campus recruitment drives in which highly reputed companies are invited. It facilitates a large number of placements by offering training programmes for every aspect of the placement process.
- Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programmes.
- Aptitude tests and group discussions are conducted at regular intervals to enable the students to improve their performance in competitive exams.
- Announcements of job opportunities and avenues for higher education are made through notices to all final year class rooms and also through notice boards.
- Well stocked library and updated magazines are open to student’s use in the general library. Books related to general reading, General Knowledge, Competitive exams, UGC NET/SLET etc are made available.
