SD College welcomes generous contributions and payments for the construction of the Platinum Jubilee Multipurpose Complex
The Sanatana Dharma Vidyashala and the educational institutions that come under it occupy an unparalled position in the history, socio-politics and culture of Alappuzha. Born out of the noble intentions of it’s illustrious founders to impart premium education in a democratic environment, the college has steadily climbed the academic ladder, and is today a large institution, with 13 teaching departments, running 13 UG courses and 9 PG courses. All PG departments of the college are Research Centres of the University of Kerala. In the NAAC reaccreditation cycle in 2017, we received the A+ grade with 3.53 points, the highest score among all the affiliated colleges of the Kerala University.
Propelled by the farsighted vision of the Management, the dedicated service of the members of the staff, and the talent of its students, the College now stands at a historic moment, a moment moving seamlessly from the illustrious past towards a promising future. The College has crossed many milestones to reach the Platinum Jubilee mark of 75 years in 2021. With a vision to enhance and develop infrastructure, and to modernise and upgrade technology and education, the Management has moved surely and steadily towards it’s goals. The crowning glory of the ongoing Platinum Jubilee celebrations undoubtedly is the construction of the PLATINUM JUBILEE MULTI PURPOSE COMPLEX named after the founding fathers, in the premises of the college. The unveiling of the foundation stone for the Platinum Jubilee Multipurpose Complex, was performed by the Honourable Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Dr.R Bindu. The Complex has been conceived as a multi dimensional facilty centre, which will house various facilities like a state of the art auditorium, examination halls, smart classrooms, indoor sports complex and much more. The project has been flagged off, and it will be constructed within the year.
