  1. Job Profiling Workshop

     

Venue: KPIGJA

Date: 06.03.2024

Time: 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm

 A  Job Profiling Workshop was conducted by C.G.P.C. in association with I.Q.A.C. and Centre for Continuing Education from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The objective of the programme was:

    1. To get awareness about the contemporary skills required before choosing a career
    2. To orient the mind set in the right direction so as to match with industrial requirements
    3. To elucidate the various course options available for students which can be chosen and studied along with their regular course.

Dr. Lekshmi  S., I.Q.A.C. Coordinator, welcomed the gathering. The Resource Person was Mr. Vishnu Lona Jacob, Digital Creator (resident of Kochi). His session achieved the objectives. There were in total 47 participants (38 girls and 9 boys).

         

2.  Orientation session

Venue: Room No. 48 (Dept. of Commerce)
Time: 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm

          An orientation sessions were provided to the members of CGPC on two points –
a. The significance of Employability Centre – the courses it offer; companies that approach
them for recruitment and the benefits of registering in the Centre
b. How to register in the centre
The sessions were handled by Smt. Simmy, Development Officer, Employability Centre,
Alappuzha and Shri. Vinod, Senior Clerk, Employability Centre, Alappuzha. There were 52 students
who participated in the programme. The students were cleared of all the queries made after each
session.

3. Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM) 

Venue: Room No.48
Date: 12.03.2024
Time: 2.45 pm to 4.15 pm

Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM) conducted a programme to introduce its objectives and also to impart to the students on how to use the platform to create knowledge and skills required for building a good career. This was followed by the registration process (which is free of cost as of now). Supporting youngsters to get jobs relevant in their area is also part of its mission. The event was conducted in two sessions:

    1. Introduction of KKEM, its objectives which was followed by interaction between the students and the Resource Person
    2. Registration for which the students required the assistance of the Resource Person

There were 41 participants (11 boys and 30 girls). The session was handled by Ms. Lekshmipriya T.U., Talent Curation Executive, KKEM.

4. Exploring Unexplored Competitive Exams – National and State

Venue: SVC, Commerce
Date: 15.03.2024
Time: 2.45 pm to 4.15

A Session on the various Competitive Examinations (including Banks, PSC and UPSC) was given to the students of the Career Cell, highlighting on the ‘not so popular’ exams. There are many exams that do not come under the radar of those aspiring to crack competitive exams and get placed in organisations. Apart from the banks and government level exams, there are opportunities for students who are in various disciplines that could be easily cracked. There are many opportunities in forensics, archaeology, chemical research etc.. that come in the Government and Semi-Government sectors. Dr. Rahul R. Kurup, Assistant Professor of Commerce (in Contract) was the Resource Person. There were 50 participants (Boys – 11; Girls – 39).
