The college has a very active centre for career guidance and placement that helps students to find out suitable educational and career options available. Prospective employers conduct regular seminars on the recent career opportunities. They also select students through interviews. Students get information about various courses conducted by universities all over India, scholarships, competitive examinations, and job opportunities from the centre. They can also make use of the internet facilities and send online applications for various jobs. The centre is attached to the college library and is coordinated by Dr. Prasanth S. Pai , Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce with the help of a committee of 20 students headed by Principal.

How to Submit a Grievance
Submitting a grievance is simple and straightforward. You can do so through one of the following channels:

In-Person: Visit our office during working hours to submit your grievance in person.
As per the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India a Complaints Committee has been constituted in the college. Girl students and lady teachers are free to approach this committee in case they face any sexual harassment.
To prevent any type of activities that comes under ragging, constant monitoring is done through the Anti Ragging Cell, which is constituted by the teachers of S. D. College. No event of ragging has so far been reported owing to constant vigil and effort of the members of the anti-ragging cell.
Excerpts from the UGC Regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009
Ragging in all its forms is prohibited in the College campus, including the departments, all its premises (academic, residential, sports, canteen, restrooms, etc), within the campus or outside it and all means of transportation whether public or private. The provisions of the Act of the Central Government or the State Governments if enacted will consider ragging as a cognizable offence under the law on a par with rape and other atrocities against women and illtreatment of persons belonging to the SC/ST.

Prevension of Ragging
Ragging is prohibited by law. It is a non-bailable criminal offence and punishable with rigorous imprisonment up to seven years. Students shall not indulge in any of the following activities, which are treated as ragging.
1. Any act that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic ragging activity of a student.
2. Exploiting the service of a junior student by a senior student or group of senior students.
3. Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a junior student including fund-raising for organisations.
4. Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: annoying playing practical jokes, sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping forcing obscene and lewd acts or gestures.
5. Any act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS, or any other means 6. Any word or act that causes hurt to the dignity of the individual.
7. Entering without permission into any class other than the one assigned to a student.
8. Forcing a student to boycott class without his/her consent to participate in strike, demonstration, dharna etc.
Reporting cases of Ragging
The complaints or information in regard to ragging could be oral or written and even from third parties. The burden/responsibility of proving his/her innocence rests with the accused. Complaints can be lodged with the Principal, Staff Counsellors or any of the members of the Ragging Prevention Committee. All complaints/information received shall be kept strictly confidential.
In the event of a student being booked in a criminal offence and being suspended from the college, he/she will be re-instated only after his/her obtaining clearance certificate from the concerned police officer

University Grants commission ::Videos Regarding Ragging (ugc.ac.in)
Students pursuing higher education will have a hassle-free mechanism to raise grievance portal complaints against the educational ambience provided to them, with the University Grants Commission (UGC) announcing an online grievance portal. The initiative aims at transparency in admissions and prevention of unfair practices in colleges, and each college has been asked to appoint a nodal officer to monitor and respond to grievances students post on the online portal.
The College Level Monitoring Committee (CLMC) has been constituted as per university guideline. CLMC monitors the continuous assessment system and address the grievances related to the continuous assessment (CA) marks/attendance Prof. (Dr.) Bindu Nair is the present coordinator. The CLMC of SD College keeps all matters related to the continuous assessment system updated.
The college has a vibrant centre for women studies that takes care of the particular problems that are faced by women, who now constitute a sizeable chunk of the student population in the college. The centre organizes seminars on contemporary issues for the girls students. The centre aims making the girl students empowered and independent in their future life. The centre coordinates awareness programmes among girl students in collaboration with medical practitioners, legal experts and social activists. Every Year the centre organizes Womens Day in which the members get a chance to exhibit their talents. The centre runs a psychological counselling centre that uses the expertise of a professional counselor.
The Sanatana Dharma College has a well equipped General Library as well as department libraries. The Library Advisory Committee has been set up in accordance with the norms laid down by the expert committee on College Libraries appointed by the Govt. of Kerala. It consists of the Principal, Five Heads of Departments (In rotation for one year), Librarian and a student representative. Mr. Arun Kishore (Librarian -UGC) is the Secretary of the Library Advisory Committee.
