Mental Health Day 2026 Observed at Sanatana Dharma College
The Counselling Cell of Sanatana Dharma College, Alappuzha, in association with the Jeevani Centre for Mental Well-being and FIKA Clinic, organised Mental Health Day 2026 on 9 October 2026 at the college. The programme featured an interactive session on Mental Health and Well-being, focusing on mental health awareness, emotional well-being, and practical ways to care for oneself.
The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Devi S., Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of English and Coordinator of the SDC Counselling Cell. Prof. (Dr.) V. R. Prabhakaran Nair, Principal-in-Charge, delivered the presidential address.
The keynote session was led by Ms. Vania Jacob, Clinical Psychologist, FIKA Clinic, who served as the resource person. The session aimed to encourage participants to understand the importance of mental health, recognise emotional needs, and adopt healthy practices to enhance psychological well-being.
Ms. Jocelyn Joseph, Consultant Psychologist, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
The initiative reaffirmed the college’s commitment to promoting mental health awareness and fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment where every individual feels heard, understood, and valued.
